Website Updated! {Brisbane Child Photographer}
Well, it’s about time I update my website. I was getting tired of the old template as the vertical images are all left aligned which seems to annoy me and I don’t always have or want two vertical images together. I would have switched sooner but my “holiday” kind of interrupted things a little bit. Anyway, it’s all done now. So if you have a few minutes to spare, please visit my website and to have a look at the new template. I hope you enjoy browsing through my work as much as I have enjoyed putting them together!

Time to welcome in the new year of 2010! {Brisbane Children Photographer}
This year has really flown by rather quickly. Today is the last day of 2009! It’s been a year full of ups and downs, lots of minor and major things all happening at the same time. Some days are good and some days are best forgotten! I have to admit that this year unlike previous years, I did not take many photos of my girls but I made up for this towards the end of the year!
To all my wonderful clients, thank you for choosing The Colour In You Photography and providing me with the opportunity to photograph your family. Have a safe and wonderful time tonight celebrating and I wish everyone a very prosperous and healthy 2010! I will dedicate my next post to my children but for this entry, here are some of my favourites from this year in random order.

Any day now! {Brisbane Pregnancy Photographer}
Yesterday I photographed C who is expecting her firstborn any day now! C was so obliging and went along with all my suggestions! Thank you! I wish you all the best with your delivery and I will be touch soon when your gallery is ready.

My Little Angel {Brisbane Child Photographer}
Life has been a little hectic lately on a personal level and I also realised that this year, I didn’t take as many photographs of my girls as I used to previous years. So to compensate for that I just had to “stop the world” for a few minutes and took a few pics. of my little one who apparently is not so little anymore!

Update! {Brisbane Child Photographer}
Just wanted to let everyone know that I currently do not have any internet connection at home at the moment. Hopefully by next week everything will be sorted out. If you contact me via email over the weekend, please note that I will get back to you by the following week.
It is amazing how much work gets done when there is no internet distraction! Have a great weekend everyone!

Facebook Page {Brisbane Child Photographer}
I have my facebook page set up ages ago but never got round to uploading any photos. If you would like to have a look at the collection of photos that you will be presented with from a booked session with me, head over to my facebook page now. These are not complete sets obviously but it will give you a good idea of what I capture in a session.
While you are there, why not become a fan as well!
No post is complete without some photos and here are my fav. girls!

City Gal in the Country {Brisbane Child Photographer}
For a city girl, I love to photograph in a country setting and recently I had that opportunity but didn’t have the right models nor the time really to capture all the beauty around me! I managed to take a few and here is one of them. This is a place that I definitely would love to return to for a proper holiday! The beauty is just so breathtaking!

Happy Birthday Sweetie! {Brisbane Children Photographer}
Today my little girl turns a year older. Time really does fly. She was such a chubby baby, so beautiful, so perfect! We are so blessed, we truly are. She has been counting down to today! She woke up this morning and smilingly said, “It’s my birthday today!”.
So it is darling and many, many more to come.

Day 31 – THE END!!! {Brisbane Child Photographer}
I DID IT!!!!!!
This has really been a challenge! It is hard enough working full time and being a mother as well and even harder when you put photography as a part time business into the mix. I was crazy enough to take up this challenge of photographing my family for a whole month! It was certainly very intense! My elder daughter had to remind me a few times that I hadn’t taken a photo yet today! Bless her!
I have no plans to set up a special photo to mark the completion but the opportunity presented itself. The girls were playing with Thomas the tank engine and I thought this photo was a fitting end to the challenge.
I hope you have enjoyed looking at the photos. I have enjoyed taking most of them bar a few when I was truly strapped for time and ideas!
“You have arrived at your destination”

Day 29 {Brisbane Maternity Photographer}
Too tired to post this last night so yes late in posting again! I cannot wait for day 31! Bring it on! My daughter had to remind me that I haven’t taken a photo yet! It was 6:55pm and I was in the middle of tidying up the house, breaking ups, trying to put the DVD only to have them change their minds that they now want to watch The Little Princess and then fight over which episode to watch. Yes, I only have 2 so I cannot imagine what it must be like with more than 2 …. Thankfully we will never find out!
So, with the light almost gone unless we go outside (nope, not a chance because I will then have to physically drag them in to have a bath and dinner!), I literally was stumped for ideas! So that’s exactly what I did.

Day 27 {Brisbane Child Photographer}
Holiday is over. School starts for some today and for others tomorrow. For us it’s tomorrow. Work day for me as usual so nothing new. Again, scrambling for photos at the end of the day. I am going to be lazy and just take mug shots because I know it “works”! I’m tired and I just want to finish this challenge! If I have amnesia and try to do this again next year, someone please SHOOT me!!!

Day 24 {Brisbane Maternity Photographer}
Day 24 saw us all busy putting labels on school books, pencils, colour pencils, glue sticks etc… It was fun until my older one saw the number of colour pencils and crayons that needed labelling!

Day 23 {Brisbane Newborn Photographer}
Well, I am behind in my posting. I took the photos but just did not have the time to process them. For day 23 I did process them but did not have time to post them! So a little behind but hopefully I’d catch up tonight. Day 23 saw me again scrambling to take some photos and light was fading fast as they do by the time I get home from work. My younger one was being cheeky as always with her wild hair all over her face and I wanted to capture that beautiful spirit of hers. So here are a couple of shots of her.

Day 17 {Brisbane Maternity and Newborn Photographer}
I love gerberas, tiger lilies and tulips, just to name a few. So I was very pleased to see some gerberas when I got home from work the other day. My older daughter had asked Daddy to buy them as they are so pretty and colourful! I am glad he did because they are indeed beautiful. Well, I didn’t get a chance to photograph them until last night and today they were starting to wilt already. So hurriedly today I got my daughter to hold them and pose for a few photos for me which she was only too happy to help out! My younger wanted to “help” out too but suffice to say, things didn’t go quite as planned!

For a limited time, I am offering free sessions worth $95.00 for maternity or engagement sessions. Sessions are only available on weekends. If you are interested please contact me.

The Year in Photos {Brisbane Family Photographer}
Well, the year 2008 is almost over. At times it seems to go so slowly at almost a snail’s pace while other times, it just flew by. This year has been a very busy year both personally and professionally. There have been times when I feel like I am unable to keep my head above water. I am sure my husband felt the same although he never verbalised it!
~Harriet Braiker
The above quote seems to sum up the year pretty well professionally for me but it has nothing to do with photography. I usually read quotes, nod my head in agreement and forget about them in the next instance but not this one. This one struck a cord with me. Sometimes we hear people say that they are perfectionists and demand the best out of themselves and that is fine if you are the only person who is affected by that unattainable perfect standards but not so when you demand that of other people as well.
Let’s hope that what I have learnt in 2008 will help me survive 2009. I wish all my clients and blog readers a Happy New Year and may 2009 fulfill what you have set out to do!
