Website Updated {Brisbane Child Photographer}

Now that I have time to focus on my photography business on a full time basis, I have finally managed to update my website with new images in particular wedding images.  Even though my passion lies in photographing children, I do sometimes second shoot for other photographers.  I much prefer to photograph children even though they are much harder to photograph than adults.

Here’s a sneak peek of what you can find in the Fine Art Portraiture section of my website.

Time to welcome in the new year of 2010! {Brisbane Children Photographer}

This year has really flown by rather quickly.  Today is the last day of 2009!  It’s been a year full of ups and downs, lots of minor and major things all happening at the same time.  Some days are good and some days are best forgotten!  I have to admit that this year unlike previous years, I did not take many photos of my girls but I made up for this towards the end of the year!

To all my wonderful clients, thank you for choosing The Colour In You Photography and providing me with the opportunity to photograph your family.  Have a safe and wonderful time tonight celebrating and I wish everyone a very prosperous and healthy 2010!  I will dedicate my next post to my children but for this entry, here are some of my favourites from this year in random order.

Chris and Angie’s Wedding {Brisbane Wedding Photographer}

I never got round to blogging this wedding that I second shot with Naomi. I had a great time, thanks Na for asking me!  Things were a bit hectic after this wedding.  It’s only now that I finally had the time to sit down and blog them.  It was kind of hard to choose a few so these are more than what I normally would blog about!

Eujin & Yu-Lan Wedding {Brisbane Wedding Photographer}

On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing a very casual, relaxed and informal but no less beautiful wedding of Eujin and Yu-Lan.  I was running just a little bit behind my schedule but guess what!  So was the groom!  Any later and the bride would have to be waiting for him!  Now that would be a first!

Eujin and Yu-Lan are such a fun loving couple and Yu-Lan is such a sport!  Her dress was absolutely stunning but was kind of difficult to walk in but she was a trooper walking in her heels from one spot to another for the location shoot!

Thank you guys for the opportunity to photograph your beautiful day.  Just a few pics for now and I will be in touch when your photos are ready.

Congratulations again!

Inspiration {Brisbane Wedding Photographer}

Photographers often asked each other where/who do we draw inspiration from.  The usual suspects are the great photographers/artists living or dead.  For me it is not so much the artists who inspire me but rather the way a great painting is visualised and come to fruition.

That’s how I view my images.  Usually but not always I have a “painting’ in mind when I frame or compose a shot and when I process the image, I try to “translate” that painting in my mind to the image.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it frustrates the heck out of me!

However, last night as I was going through some images to try and select a few for final processing, I came across this image.  It was late so I didn’t do anything with it but just went to bed instead.  However that image stayed in my mind and when I woke up this morning, I knew exactly how I wanted the finished “product” to look like.  It was one of the most satisfying edit I’ve done in a long time and one of the fastest too.  Those who know me knows that I am extremely slow in editing!

Anyway, enough rambling, I just wanted to share this image that I had immense pleasure in editing!

A Fairytale Wedding {Brisbane Wedding Photographer}

About a week and half ago I had the pleasure of second shooting with Carissa Gorman of Grazac Photography.  Boy, was it a LONG way away from Brisbane!  Everything about the wedding was beautiful – the bride, the couple, the house, the church, the location and last but not least the reception.  The weather was good to us too so lots of photos were taken so here are a few to share with my readers.

Thank you Carissa for letting me tag along!  It was a great experience and you are a great company and teacher!
