In Print {Brisbane Newborn Photographer}
Last Saturday a friend of mine alerted me to this magazine, Paradise Magazine from the Gold Coast Bulletin, July 24-25 2010. I was told that one of my photos was used in an article from that magazine. Needless to say I was a bit puzzled since to my knowledge I had not submitted any photos for competition or otherwise recently. However, when I saw the photo I recalled the conversation that I had with the author of that article who is the father of the baby I photographed about using one of my photographs in his article.
This little baby was only a few weeks old when I photographed her and she was a champ! She slept well and that certainly made my job so much easier. It’s such a buzz to see your work in print!
If you haven’t read the article yet, then grab a copy and read it. When it comes to pregnancy, birthing options, birthing centres etc, these are topics that are will strike a cord with most if not all mothers and mothers-to-be.
The article,

A New Addition {Brisbane Family Photographer}
I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family this afternoon. They have just welcomed little baby J into the world almost 2 weeks ago. He was such a joy to photograph! I wish I had more time with him! His sisters, J and C were no less adorable! As promised, here are a few images as a sneak peek. I will be in touch soon to arrange the viewing session.
Thank you P and V for a wonderful time this afternoon photographing your family!

Website Updated! {Brisbane Child Photographer}
Well, it’s about time I update my website. I was getting tired of the old template as the vertical images are all left aligned which seems to annoy me and I don’t always have or want two vertical images together. I would have switched sooner but my “holiday” kind of interrupted things a little bit. Anyway, it’s all done now. So if you have a few minutes to spare, please visit my website and to have a look at the new template. I hope you enjoy browsing through my work as much as I have enjoyed putting them together!

Time to welcome in the new year of 2010! {Brisbane Children Photographer}
This year has really flown by rather quickly. Today is the last day of 2009! It’s been a year full of ups and downs, lots of minor and major things all happening at the same time. Some days are good and some days are best forgotten! I have to admit that this year unlike previous years, I did not take many photos of my girls but I made up for this towards the end of the year!
To all my wonderful clients, thank you for choosing The Colour In You Photography and providing me with the opportunity to photograph your family. Have a safe and wonderful time tonight celebrating and I wish everyone a very prosperous and healthy 2010! I will dedicate my next post to my children but for this entry, here are some of my favourites from this year in random order.

Merry Christmas! {Brisbane Children Photographer}
This year has certainly flown by rather quickly! Every year, my girls would ask me on Boxing Day when will it be Christmas again and every year my answer would be the same, “Not for a VERY LONG time sweetheart!”. However, it is amazing how quickly a year passes by when you are busy!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my clients for your support this year. It has been my absolute pleasure to photograph your family and I look forward to more opportunities in the future to capture more important milestones in your family life.
Have a safe and wonderful Christmas everyone!

One Week Young! {Brisbane Newborn Photographer}
Meet baby H who is just a little over 1 week old. It was a bit of a challenge trying to get him to sleep but we eventually did but I have to say that he was a trooper though! He didn’t cry much when he was awake which means I managed to get some wide awake shots of him without much fuss as long as he gets to wee and poo wherever is convenient which happens to be on Dad’s back!
Here are a few pics as a sneak peek. Thanks D & N for the opportunity to photograph your firstborn. I will be in touch when the gallery is ready.

Sweet as… {Brisbane Newborn Photographer}
Today I had the pleasure of photographing little A and I thought to myself, “Great! a baby girl! I get to use some girly stuff for a change!” However, this little beauty had other ideas! She didn’t want to miss any of the actions so she decided that she will try her hardest to stay awake!
For the second time now, the click of my shutter wakes up babies! Oh well, I managed to get some beautiful shots of her wide awake! Little A was born premature but you wouldn’t know it looking at her now. She is very strong! Dad had to keep a tight hold on her or she would have launched herself off my basket!!!
J and K, it was lovely to meet you guys. Here are a few pics as a sneak peek. I will be in touch when your gallery is ready.

Gorgeous Little Miss E {Brisbane Newborn Photographer}
Today I had the pleasure of photographing the most gorgeous little baby girl! Once fed, she dropped to sleep and let me do my thing. She was such a good little poser too! It was so hard to pick just one favourite as there are so many! S & C, enjoy your little sneak peek and I will contact you soon when your gallery is ready.

Saving all his sleep … {Brisbane Newborn Photographer}
… for night time! That’s right, this adorable baby sleeps through the night and his Mummy and Daddy are the envy of many first time parents! However, this means that I have my work cut out for me! He made me work super fast! Click, click, click and that’s about all the time I am permitted to take his photos!
Anyhow, here are a few pics as a sneak peek. I will notify you guys when your gallery is ready! Thanks R and C for the opportunity to photograph your first born!

Just one more! {Brisbane Newborn Photographer}
Just one more because I couldn’t help myself! E is just gorgeous! Thank you J & N for your kind words. They are very much appreciated. I am so glad I used your scarf instead of mine!

Meet Master E {Brisbane Newborn Photographer}
It’s been a while since I pack my gear to go to a client’s home for a newborn session so it felt like I packed the kitchen sink this morning for a newborn session with Master E! Well, his daddy can certainly vouched for me that I did indeed pack the kitchen sink! However, it was well worth it even though I didn’t have to use the backdrop stand nor flash! The house is beautiful but more importantly the light was just perfect!
Well, little E needed help to get to sleep and I had to work fast as he wasn’t too keen on being moved! Here are a few images as a sneak peek. I will be in touch once the gallery is ready. Thank you N and J for the opportunity to photograph your beautiful family!

Baby X – Newborn Session today {Brisbane Newborn Photographer}
Today I had my longest newborn session to date – 4 hours! This cute little bundle is 9 days old and according to Mum and Dad, he is usually a very good sleeper but not today! Newborns are very unpredictable when it comes to sleeping so it is not surprisingly at all but we did get some good shots! The good part of photographing non-sleeping babies is that you get to see their beautiful eyes and that’s what baby X has, gorgeous eyes!
As promised, here are a few images as sneak peek for Mum and Dad. When your gallery is ready I will contact you and you can view all the images online. Thank you for the opportunity to photograph your new addition to the family today! I will be in touch.

My Little Angel {Brisbane Child Photographer}
Life has been a little hectic lately on a personal level and I also realised that this year, I didn’t take as many photographs of my girls as I used to previous years. So to compensate for that I just had to “stop the world” for a few minutes and took a few pics. of my little one who apparently is not so little anymore!

Update! {Brisbane Child Photographer}
Just wanted to let everyone know that I currently do not have any internet connection at home at the moment. Hopefully by next week everything will be sorted out. If you contact me via email over the weekend, please note that I will get back to you by the following week.
It is amazing how much work gets done when there is no internet distraction! Have a great weekend everyone!

Facebook Page {Brisbane Child Photographer}
I have my facebook page set up ages ago but never got round to uploading any photos. If you would like to have a look at the collection of photos that you will be presented with from a booked session with me, head over to my facebook page now. These are not complete sets obviously but it will give you a good idea of what I capture in a session.
While you are there, why not become a fan as well!
No post is complete without some photos and here are my fav. girls!

City Gal in the Country {Brisbane Child Photographer}
For a city girl, I love to photograph in a country setting and recently I had that opportunity but didn’t have the right models nor the time really to capture all the beauty around me! I managed to take a few and here is one of them. This is a place that I definitely would love to return to for a proper holiday! The beauty is just so breathtaking!

In Colour {Brisbane Newborn Photographer}
Just for you J to see what the colour version in the pram would look like.

Baby L {Brisbane Children Photographer}
Today I had the pleasure of photographing little baby L and his parents. It was not easy getting him to smile! He did eventually but by then the session was over! A and J thank you so much for the opportunity to photograph your gorgeous family. Baby L is adorable. Love his beautiful brown eyes! I have so many favourites, it took me a while to cull the photos! Here’s a little sneak peek. I will be posting a few more over the next few nights. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Sweetie! {Brisbane Children Photographer}
Today my little girl turns a year older. Time really does fly. She was such a chubby baby, so beautiful, so perfect! We are so blessed, we truly are. She has been counting down to today! She woke up this morning and smilingly said, “It’s my birthday today!”.
So it is darling and many, many more to come.

Day 31 – THE END!!! {Brisbane Child Photographer}
I DID IT!!!!!!
This has really been a challenge! It is hard enough working full time and being a mother as well and even harder when you put photography as a part time business into the mix. I was crazy enough to take up this challenge of photographing my family for a whole month! It was certainly very intense! My elder daughter had to remind me a few times that I hadn’t taken a photo yet today! Bless her!
I have no plans to set up a special photo to mark the completion but the opportunity presented itself. The girls were playing with Thomas the tank engine and I thought this photo was a fitting end to the challenge.
I hope you have enjoyed looking at the photos. I have enjoyed taking most of them bar a few when I was truly strapped for time and ideas!
“You have arrived at your destination”

Day 29 {Brisbane Maternity Photographer}
Too tired to post this last night so yes late in posting again! I cannot wait for day 31! Bring it on! My daughter had to remind me that I haven’t taken a photo yet! It was 6:55pm and I was in the middle of tidying up the house, breaking ups, trying to put the DVD only to have them change their minds that they now want to watch The Little Princess and then fight over which episode to watch. Yes, I only have 2 so I cannot imagine what it must be like with more than 2 …. Thankfully we will never find out!
So, with the light almost gone unless we go outside (nope, not a chance because I will then have to physically drag them in to have a bath and dinner!), I literally was stumped for ideas! So that’s exactly what I did.

Day 27 {Brisbane Child Photographer}
Holiday is over. School starts for some today and for others tomorrow. For us it’s tomorrow. Work day for me as usual so nothing new. Again, scrambling for photos at the end of the day. I am going to be lazy and just take mug shots because I know it “works”! I’m tired and I just want to finish this challenge! If I have amnesia and try to do this again next year, someone please SHOOT me!!!
